Awards to USA public school music teachers to recognize exceptional teaching and student learning. The award is intended to support teachers who raise awareness of music education causes while making a positive influence on their community and school. Teachers must have at least 4 years of experience.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
The Music Teachers of Excellence award is open to full time, public school music teachers who have at least 4 years of experience. Teachers who have won three years in a row must take (1) year off from applying.
The CMA Foundation’s Music Teachers of Excellence program is only open to traditional K-12 public music teachers.They are focused on solving issues of equity for the 50 million students and their teachers in public schools in the United States first and foremost.
Pre-Application Information
The application process includes narrative responses, recommendations and a video lesson demonstration. The 2023 application is now through Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:59PM CT.
