Grant Description
Grants of up to $75,000 to Alaska nonprofit organizations in eligible areas for activities and projects that benefit local communities. Funding is intended to assist nonprofits by supporting local programs and projects that will be dedicated to public purposes for their useful life. Eligible activities benefit the citizens of the Denali Borough.
Nonprofit organizations that serve some public or mutual benefit as opposed to benefiting only the owners, investors, or members of the organization may apply under the nonprofit grant program.
Grant programs must be administered by an eligible nonprofit organization within the state of Alaska.
Organizations receiving other grants or monies from the Denali Borough may apply for the matching grant program.
Ineligible
Matching grants will not be awarded for administrative costs, operational costs of programs, or salaries and benefits related to direct services.
Pre-Application Information
The application deadline is Wednesday, March 1, 2023, by 4:00 PM AKST.
Grant applications must be received at the borough office or postmarked no later than the application deadline.
The matching grant program will provide project-based funding on a matching basis. A 20 percent cash match by the applicant is required. The Borough’s contribution to the project may not exceed 80% of the total project cost.
Grant projects will not be funded retroactively. Grant funding shall be on a reimbursable basis.
Grant Award Amount: Minimum of $5,000 and maximum of $75,000.
Term of Contract
The performance period for nonconstruction projects will be 12 months beginning July 1st. The performance period for construction projects will be 15 months beginning July 1st.
