Grant Description
Opportunity for USA and territories social entrepreneurs to compete for financial and in-kind benefits for wireless technology projects. Organizations led by veterans, women, and members of BIPOC communities are strongly encouraged to apply. In addition to cash prizes, awardees will also receive non-financial benefits and incentives such as pitch coaching, networking opportunities, and access to the alumni network.

CTIA Wireless Foundation supports emerging change-makers and social impact projects that will benefit greatly from infusions of capital in their early stages of development. Operating at the crossroads of discovery, access, and human connection, Catalyst seeks to push the boundaries of what is possible through leading edge wireless technologies. Catalyst supports bold innovators who are addressing some of our country’s biggest challenges that often impact marginalized populations the most.

In addition to the grant award, all Catalyst Finalists will receive several non-financial benefits and incentives, including pitch coaching, opportunities to meet elected officials and policymakers and networking with industry leaders.

In addition to one financial award at an amount outlined below, all awardees will receive several non-financial benefits and incentives, including the following:

Top three winners:

  • A video vignette profiling your work.
  • Opportunities to share your work with elected officials and policymakers

Winners and Honorable mentions:

  • An organizational profile posted on CTIA Wireless Foundation’s website.
  • Features in CTIA Member communications, including newsletters and social media channels, as well as through CTIA Wireless Foundation channels.
  • Financial support to participate in Catalyst in-person events.
  • Pitch coaching with a communications expert.
  • Networking with CTIA Wireless Foundation board members.
  • An invitation to join the Catalyst alumni network.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
CTIA Wireless Foundation is seeking ambitious and emerging social entrepreneurs who are using the power of 5G and leading edge wireless technologies to enhance lives and address challenges in American communities.

In order to be considered, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must be registered and operate in the United States and/or the United States Territories.
- Applicants must assume one of the following legal statuses: a nonprofit organization; a for-profit enterprise with a demonstrated commitment to social good; or a B-Corporation. The foundation will not consider organizations without one of these statuses. The foundation may ask organizations that have the legal status of a for-profit enterprise or a B-Corporation to submit additional documentation at the appropriate time.

Ineligible
- Applicants cannot be past or current CTIA members at any point in the application and awards process.
- Individuals are not eligible to apply.

Estimated Size of Grant
Winners will receive financial and non-financial benefits.
- First place receives an unrestricted $100,000 grant award.
- Second place receives an unrestricted $50,000 grant award.
- Third place receives an unrestricted $25,000 grant award.
- Honorable Mention $10,000 - The Foundation will award up to three Honorable Mentions totaling $30,000.
