Grants of up to $500 to USA and Canada school and public libraries to develop gaming collections and programs for their local communities. Eligible libraries will demonstrate financial need, institutional support, and a sustainable plan for maintaining the program. Priority will be given to applicants who can demonstrate a fiscal need for funds based on their institution’s budget.
ALA members in good standing currently employed at a public, school, academic or special library in the United States or Canada are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be a member of ALA, personal or organizational. (ALA Member login required to access application). (Project coordinator, library director, or institution must be an ALA member.)
- Applicants must be employed with a public, school, academic, or special library
- No library should receive the Game On! Grant more than two times in a five year period.
- Institutions represented by the Game On! Grant Jury are eligible to apply, but Committee members must recuse themselves from the discussion and voting or decline the nomination if they have a conflict of interest.
Pre-Application Information
The 2023 grant cycle will accept applications from January 1 to March 15 of 2023 at 8:00 PM EST.
Grant recipient(s) will be announced at ALA Play at the 2023 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago, IL.
