Grant Description
Grants of $10,000 and in-kind support to USA and Puerto Rico Black female entrepreneurs to support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses. In addition to the cash grant, grantees will also receive mentoring, as well as business training and support. The long-range focus is to assist Black women entrepreneurs in having a solid business model, that they can use to pitch for investor financing or business growth.

BOSS Impact Fund is a program by The BOSS Network, that focuses on investing in Black women led businesses and preparing these entrepreneurs to build scalable, growth aggressive companies. The goal of the BOSS Network through access to capital and entrepreneurial mentorship is to provide Black female founders a chance to even the playing field and grow successful companies. Through the Invest in Progress Grant program, the BOSS Network will provide grants for Black women entrepreneurs and access to a 1-year mentorship program, to assist in their business growth.

BOSS Business University is a digital platform providing comprehensive mentorship programming, through industry business experts. Every Black female founder that applies will have access to monthly training, workshops, and coaching opportunities. 

Benefits of the program:

  • Grant Recipients will receive a $10,000 (USD) unrestricted grant to be used for the benefit of the Grant Recipient’s business.
  • Each Grant Recipient may receive recognition on the Hello Alice, The BOSS Network, and/or Sage platforms.
    • Each Grant Recipient will receive a one-year scholarship to the BOSS Business University and must attend mandated quarterly business trainings.
    • Recipients are required to participate in a virtual mentoring program where Founder will receive up to 2 hours of support and mentoring by BOSS and/or its designated agency(ies) monthly for the 2023 calendar year, to be confirmed by the time the Grant Recipients are announced.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to enter a business in the Program, you (“Officer”) must be all of the following as of the first day of the Program Period (defined below):
- A Black woman-identifying entrepreneur who is the leading executive (i.e. Founder) of a small business that meets the below business criteria;
- A Black woman-identifying entrepreneur in the first five years of their business (based on start date of application).
- A legal resident of one of the fifty United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico;
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older (19 in AL and NE)

To be eligible to participate in the program, the business (“Entrant”) must meet all of the following criteria as of the first day of the Program Period:
- Be a for-profit business located and registered in one of the fifty United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico;
- Have at least one Black woman-identifying founder;
- Have a demonstrated need for funds; AND
- Must be willing to participate in a virtual Mentoring Program

Ineligible
Nonprofits are not eligible for this program.

Applicants are only eligible for one grant per individual and per company.
