Award of $1,500 to a USA, Canada, or international library or library system for the creation of a new reference tool to benefit patrons. The purpose of the award is to recognize the achievement of providing patrons with a unique and creative resource. Eligible resources include a database, directory, bibliography, guide to the literature of a specific subject, or any other project that has helped the library meet adult or children’s reference needs. Tools, guides, or databases that have been developed for reader’s advisory or adult service questions and needs are also eligible for the award.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility
- The nominee must be a library or a library system. The library or library system can be located in any nation.
- Neither nominators nor nominees need to be members of ALA or RUSA.
- Self-nominations are permitted. Letters of support will strengthen the submission.
Ineligible
The President of RUSA is not eligible for the award during their term in office.
