Grant Description
Grants of $3,000 to USA and Canada nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and K-12 public, private, and charter schools for new or existing gardening projects. Requests may be made for edible educational gardens that grow fruits, herbs, edible flowers, grains, and vegetables.

Through the Garden Grant program, schools and non-profit organizations turn outdoor spaces into powerful hands-on learning gardens that connect kids with food, spark their curiosity, and support classroom curriculum.

The Garden Grant program provides a monetary grant to support a new or existing edible educational garden located at either a:

  • K–12 School
  • 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves children in the K-12 grade range

Additional Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for this grant, the school or organization must meet the below criteria:
- Be a charter or public school including tribally controlled and Bureau of Indian Education schools, non-profit private school, a non-profit organization or tribal entity that serves children in the K-12 age range, or a government entity
- Engage at least 10 children on a regular basis
- Be growing edible plants in your garden
- Eligible to re-apply for a second grant if your previous funds were received in 2021 or earlier. Completion of Progress Report on previous grant required to apply again. *Recipients can only receive a total of two Garden Grants.
