Grant Description

Grant to a USA nonprofit organization in multiple states for a project to protect and manage water sources. Funding is intended to address groundwater and watershed supplies. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to management through fire prevention, forestry, or remediation of impacted watersheds.

Preference may be given to projects addressing climate resiliency of disadvantaged communities, to projects located near (ca. 100 miles is a good guide - consult this list for reference) of Woodard & Curran Foundation donors and volunteers, and to applications that have the expressed support of a Woodard & Curran Foundation donor. The chief interest is in receiving strong applications for innovative projects that protect water and the environment and for which the grant funds will have the most impact.

Additional Eligibility Criteria

US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations applying for an Impact Grant must:
- Have received 501(c)(3) non-profit designation as of the date of the application and retain that status throughout the grant term.
- Not discriminate on the basis of race, age, ancestry or national origin, sexual orientation, gender, physical or mental disability, or religion.
- Not be a political organization, a political action committee, or a house of worship. (Applications from organizations with religious affiliations will be accepted if the project is not specific to or primarily to benefit a religious group).

Projects should focus on action and outcomes and should not be primarily research.
